Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (for coating)
  • Red gel food coloring
  • Blue gel food coloring

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together vegetable oil and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  2. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until a thick dough forms.
  3. Divide the dough into three bowls: leave one plain for white, color one with red gel food coloring, and the other with blue gel food coloring.
  4. Cover the bowls with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for one hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Scoop 1-inch portions of dough and roll them into balls. For a marbled look, mix small bits of each color together before rolling.
  7. Roll each ball generously in powdered sugar and place on prepared baking sheets with space in between.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are set and tops crackle. Cool on wire racks.
