  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 TBSP milk
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 5 TBSP milk
  • 2 TBSP corn syrup
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • red food coloring
  • blue food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together sugar and softened butter until light and fluffy. Add the egg, sour cream, and vanilla extract; mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour, baking soda, and salt; beat until smooth.
  4. Spread the dough evenly in a greased 9×13 inch baking pan. Bake for about 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
  5. Allow cooling completely before frosting with a mixture of powdered sugar and milk to create the base layer of icing.
  6. Add red and blue food coloring to separate portions of icing for decoration; swirl as desired.
