1 lb ground beef
12 oz low-carb marinara sauce
¾ lb sliced deli chicken or turkey
10 tablespoons whole milk ricotta cheese
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, seasoning with salt and pepper. Optional: add herbs such as basil and oregano for extra flavor.
Stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes.
In a casserole dish, layer a small amount of the meat mixture, followed by slices of chicken, more meat mixture, dollops of ricotta cheese, and a portion of mozzarella cheese. Repeat this layering process 2-3 times.
Top with the remaining meat mixture and mozzarella cheese.
