  • 2 lb ground beef (80/20 lean)
  • 1 large onion (finely grated)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 slice bread (crumbled)
  • 2.75 tsp salt
  • 2.25 tsp ground cumin
  • 2.25 tsp paprika
  • 1 lemon (zested and juiced)
  • 6 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/4 cup fresh oregano (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint (finely chopped)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1.5 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 Persian cucumbers (grated and squeezed dry)
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill (finely chopped)
  • 3.5 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine grated onion, milk, crumbled bread, ground beef, salt, cumin, paprika, lemon zest and juice, minced garlic cloves, fresh herbs, eggs, olive oil, and black pepper.
  3. Form small meatballs (1-2 inches) and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 10–12 minutes until cooked through and golden brown.
  5. For the yogurt sauce, mix yogurt with grated cucumbers, dill, minced garlic cloves, lemon juice, and salt until blended.
  6. Serve hot with the yogurt sauce.
