  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup maraschino cherry juice
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon pure almond extract
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 8 oz Cool Whip
  • Mini chocolate chips and chopped maraschino cherries for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, milk, vegetable oil, cherry juice, egg whites, and almond extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. Gently fold in mini chocolate chips.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for approximately 22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow it to cool completely.
  5. Use a toothpick to poke holes all over the top of the cooled cake.
  6. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake allowing it to soak in.
  7. Spread Cool Whip on top and garnish with chopped cherries and hot fudge sauce as desired. Chill for at least an hour before serving.
