  • 2 pounds chicken breasts or thighs, cut into cubes
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/3 cup tamari or soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter or extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • black pepper and chili flakes to taste
  • 1/4 cup flour or gluten-free flour
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon chili paste
  • 6 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • sesame seeds and green onion for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Toss chicken cubes with garlic powder, black pepper, chili flakes, flour, and melted butter until well-coated.
  3. Place seasoned chicken on one side of the baking sheet and add broccoli on the other side with remaining butter or olive oil.
  4. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the hoisin sauce by whisking together tamari, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, chili paste, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
  6. Remove broccoli from the oven; pour hoisin sauce over chicken and return it to bake for another 5 minutes.
  7. Serve hot garnished with green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
