  • 2 cups sliced carrots
  • 2 cups sliced sweet potatoes
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 2 lbs ground lean turkey
  • 3 cups crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cans kidney beans (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons rubbed sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • a sprinkle nutmeg
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add carrots, sweet potatoes, and apples; season with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, sage, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir and cook for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add ground turkey to the pot and cook until no longer pink (5-7 minutes).
  4. Stir in tomato paste and chili powder; mix well.
  5. Pour in crushed tomatoes and kidney beans (if using). Stir to combine.
  6. Simmer on low-medium heat for 20-30 minutes before serving.
