  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup sour cream
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter
  • ¼ cup flour
  • ¾ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground sage

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop potatoes; boil until fork-tender. Drain and mash with sour cream and butter.
  2. Cook ground beef in a stockpot until browned; set aside.
  3. In the same pot, sauté diced onions and minced garlic until softened.
  4. Stir in flour, then gradually add chicken broth while stirring continuously.
  5. Season with Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, mustard powder, and sage.
  6. Mix in half-and-half and let it simmer gently.
  7. Blend in the mashed potatoes for creaminess; then add back the cooked beef and vegetables.
  8. Stir in shredded cheese until melted and well combined.
