  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream, room temperature (for frosting)
  • 1 cup coarse sanding sugar (for decoration)
  • 30 large chocolate chips (for decoration)
  • Round black sprinkles (for decoration)
  • Round red or pink sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Add granulated sugar and mix until fluffy, then incorporate egg and vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt before gradually adding dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  5. Cut out shapes with a polar bear cookie cutter and place on lined baking sheets.
  6. Bake for about 14 minutes until edges are lightly golden; let cool completely.
  7. For frosting, beat unsalted butter until fluffy, gradually add powdered sugar, then mix in heavy cream and vanilla extract until smooth.
