Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 to 2.3 pounds of oranges (about 4 medium)
  • 1 lemon (zest and juice)
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 4 cups granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Thoroughly wash the oranges and lemon to clean their peels.
  2. Cut off the ends of the oranges, halve them, and slice each half into four pieces, discarding any seeds.
  3. In a food processor, chop the orange pieces until finely diced.
  4. In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine chopped oranges, lemon zest and juice, water, and sugar; stir well.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to maintain a low boil. Simmer for about 30-35 minutes while stirring frequently until thickened.
  6. Test the consistency using a cold plate; if it slides off in sheets, it’s ready!
  7. Pour the marmalade into jars or containers once thickened; let cool before sealing.
