  • 2 tbsp dried culinary lavender (for syrup)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (for frosting), softened
  • 2⅓ cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 tbsp cooled lavender simple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) and prepare two 8-inch round cake pans by greasing and lining them with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, crushed lavender, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream softened butter and sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternating with buttermilk until just combined.
