  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 egg

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 3 potatoes
  • 0.3 lbs ground beef
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 3 cubes Japanese curry roux
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling by sautéing chopped onion in oil until translucent. Add diced carrot and potatoes; cook until tender. Stir in ground beef until browned. Mix in soy sauce, ketchup, curry roux, and water; simmer until thickened. Let cool.
  2. Make the dough by combining flours, salt, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Melt butter into warm milk; mix with dry ingredients and add egg to form dough. Knead until smooth.
  3. Divide dough into equal portions and roll each into circles. Place cooled filling in the center and seal by pinching edges.
  4. Fry in hot oil at 350°F (175°C) until golden brown on all sides; drain on paper towels.
