  • 1 cup Ditalini pasta
  • 5 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 onion (diced)
  • 1 cup carrots (chopped)
  • 3 stalks celery (diced)
  • 1 lb Italian sausage (casings removed)
  • 15 oz red kidney beans (rinsed/drained)
  • 15 oz Great Northern Beans (drained/rinsed)
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 16 oz tomato sauce
  • 15 oz diced tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt/pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Cook Ditalini pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pot over medium heat, heat olive oil and brown the Italian sausage until cooked through; remove from pot.
  3. In the same pot, sauté garlic, onion, carrots, and celery until tender.
  4. Stir in chicken broth, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, basil, seasoning, cooked sausage, and water. Mix well.
  5. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to low; let simmer for about 15 minutes.
  6. Add beans and cooked pasta; stir until heated through.
  7. Serve hot with fresh bread or toppings of your choice.
