  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1/4 cup butter (cold, for topping)
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for topping)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 6-mold donut pan with non-stick baking spray.
  2. In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar, flour, and cinnamon for the crumb topping. Add cold butter and mix until crumbly. Chill in the freezer.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, mix sour cream, egg, melted butter, and brown sugar. Fold wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
  4. Fill each mold of the donut pan with batter and sprinkle with chilled crumb topping.
  5. Bake for approximately 10-11 minutes or until donuts spring back when lightly pressed. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
