  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch ground nutmeg
  • Pinch ground cloves
  • Pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a saucepan, bring apple cider to a boil, then reduce until you have about 1/4 cup of reduced cider; let cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, egg, Greek yogurt, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, mix flour, ground cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  5. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients along with the reduced cider until just mixed.
  6. Fill the donut pan cavities halfway with batter and bake for about 10 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow cooling slightly before rolling in melted butter and then in cinnamon sugar.
